Where Akron, Cleveland children’s hospitals land on U.S. News & World’s best list for 2025
Ohio is home to some of the best pediatric care you can find, according to the newly released U.S. News Best Children’s Hospitals 2024-2025.
While both Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus snagged the No. 1 spot for the state (and are also named as two of the best children’s hospitals in the United States), Northeast Ohio has top offerings as well.
Akron Children’s Hospital, Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital and UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland are among the top five best children’s hospitals in Ohio and also have numerous specialties that rank among the top 50 in the nation.
The U.S. News list ranks children’s hospitals in 11 specialties, including pediatric cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, neurology and neurosurgery and urology.
Hospitals are ranked based on survival and complex surgery outcomes, nursing quality, infection prevention and advanced technologies.
Here’s a look at where Northeast Ohio hospitals land in the rankings, as well as the top pediatric hospitals in the state and the nation.
