The Mares’ Hurdle is emerging as the most controversial race on this year’s Cheltenham Festival schedule.
That’s because connections of last season’s winner Lossiemouth and the brilliant Brighterdaysahead could opt to keep their horses to their own sex instead of tackling the cream of the crop in the Champion Hurdle.
If the big two are sent to the championship contest then the Mares’ Hurdle, which sees the runners meet 10 flights over 2m4f on the Old Course, has the potential to be one of the most wide-open renewals of the fez.
Mares’ Hurdle odds can be found on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise all the key details for this year’s renewal are below.
The Mares’ Hurdle is set to take place at Cheltenham on Tuesday, 11th March.
The Mares’ Hurdle post time is scheduled for 15:20.
You can watch the Mares’ Hurdle live on paddypower.com and the Paddy Power app or on ITV1.

Mares’ Hurdle odds are on paddypower.com and prices for the leading contenders can be seen on our snazzy widgets below.
Brighterdaysahead is the favourite with Paddy Power to win the Mares’ Hurdle after getting the better of last season’s Champion Hurdle winner State Man on two occasions this term.
Lossiemouth is next in our early betting as last season’s winner could be rerouted from the Champion Hurdle to defend her crown after failing to land a glove on Constitution Hill in the Christmas Hurdle and falling in the Irish Champion Hurdle.
