SAN DIEGO, Calif. – USC men’s Tennis (6-4) fell 4-1 against No. 7-ranked San Diego (11-2) on Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Hogan Tennis Center.
The Trojans earned one win in doubles and one in singles during the road dual. USC’s doubles team of graduate Tristan Bradley and senior Peter Makk improved their record, as they moved to 6-1 on the season. Freshman Connor Church earned his ninth win of the year and second in duals, as he is now 9-4.
USC’s Bradley and Makk posted another successful outing as they took on one-half of the No. 1 doubles squad, as Stian Klaassen paired with Savriyan Danilov this time. The Trojans’ top pairing proved successful once again, earning the lone victory in doubles for USC 6-4.
On the singles side, the Trojans dropped matches on courts No. 2, 3 and 5, while winning on court No. 6. Church won in just two sets, 7-5, 6-2.
The Trojans will stay south, as they are set for the Pacific Coast Doubles Championships starting today (Feb. 27) through Sunday, Mar. 2 at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club in La Jolla, Calif.
