AKRON, Ohio – Akron-area golfers will be able to hone their skills year-round at another location with the opening today of Topgolf Akron at 600 Swartz Rd.
The facility, located at 600 Swartz Road, opens Friday, Nov. 8 and is adjacent to Firestone Country Club in the former BigShots Golf building. Topgolf Callaway Brands Corp. purchased the facility from BigShots parent company Invited Inc. It’s the fourth Topgolf location in the state, joining locations in Cleveland (Independence), Cincinnati and Columbus.
“We are excited to welcome the Akron community to Topgolf. Consider this an open invitation to come out, have fun and play around. There is no golf experience needed to have a great time,” Topgolf Chief Operating Officer Erin Chamberlin said in a statement.
The remodeled building has two floors of entertainment, including 44 all-weather bays that are heated during the winter and cooled during the summer. The facility features giant targets and balls that score themselves. Complimentary golf clubs are available for use, or players can bring their own. Lessons are also available, according to the facility website.
Additional entertainment includes:
The facility expects to employ approximately 100 people, according to the facility website.
To celebrate the opening, Topgolf Akron is offering half-price gameplay through Nov. 21. Pricing varies depending on day and time and can be viewed on the Topgolf Akron website.
Hours are Mondays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to midnight.
