FLUSHING, N.Y. – Top-seeded Baruch College and No. 2 seed Hunter College advanced to the final of the 2024 CUNYAC/HSS Women’s Tennis Championship with semifinal victories on Tuesday at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
The defending champion Bearcats downed No. 4 seed Lehman 5-1, while the Hawks swept No. 3 seed Brooklyn 5-0.
Baruch won at the top two doubles flights and picked up wins at Nos. 1, 3 and 4 singles to advance.
Hunter swept doubles and was victorious at No. 1 and No. 6 singles.
Baruch and Hunter will meet Thursday, October 31 at 3 pm for the 2024 CUNYAC championship and the accompanying NCAA autobid to next spring’s 2025 NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Championship. The two teams are meeting in the final for the fifth consecutive season, with Hunter last winning in 2022.
