Dropping a clip featuring BTS’ Jimin with the caption ‘Coming soon,’ BIGHIT MUSIC took fans by surprise on June 17. Just minutes after releasing the video, BTS’ label announced that Jimin would be releasing his second solo album, MUSE, on July 19. The upcoming album, which documents the singer’s journey in search of the source of his inspiration, will feature seven new songs.
TXT’s Beomgyu will be taking a temporary break from activities as he sustained an injury during a recent schedule. BIGHIT MUSIC released an official statement, which read, “Beomgyu visited a hospital due to an injury he sustained during recent activities, and he was diagnosed with a sprained ankle ligament. Following the opinion of medical staff that he needs adequate rest for the time being.”
On June 18, THE BLACK LABEL announced that Blackpink’s Rosé had joined the agency. “We have signed a management contract with Rosé,” they shared, before adding, “Teddy (Park) and Rosé have worked together as producer and artist for a long time now and recently, a management contract with THE BLACK LABEL was signed based on the mutual trust they share.” In their official statement, THE BLACK LABEL also revealed that the Gone singer has been working on new music.
Taking to Instagram, Boys Over Flowers actress Goo Hye-sun recently shared that she had been accepted into the Master’s program in Science Journalism at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. In case you weren’t aware, KAIST is among South Korea’s top science and technology universities.
BTS leader RM’s LOST! music video was screened at the prestigious Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity on June 20, 2024. Directed by Aube Perrie, the stunning music video starred Kim Namjoon along with Audrey Kang, David H Lee, Hee Shin, Stephany Yujin, Natallia Bulynia, Tarsvinder Singh Sihra, Miji Yi, Yasamin Saadati and Kasra Nemati.
LOONA members Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsoul and Choerry won their contract lawsuit against their former label BlockBerry Creative. On June 20, the Seoul Northern District Court’s 11th Civil Division ruled in favor of the members, confirming the non-existence of their exclusive contract lawsuit worth 200 million KRW filed against their former agency.
For the unversed, the four members had originally filed the lawsuit in March 2023. However, due to no action from the label’s side, a ruling was made without pleading. In December 2023, the first trial began BlockBerry Creative issued a belated response.
On June 20, NCT’s Renjun took to Bubble to reveal the phone number of a person he believed was a sasaeng fan. However, the person whose number Renjun had shared claimed that they were simply a civilian and shared that they had called the singer believing it to be their friend’s number. As the alleged civilian kept receiving hateful messages from the NCT member’s fans, they reported the matter to the police. A day after the incident, SM Entertainment as well as Renjun apologized for the mistake.
