Queen of Tears star Kim Soo-hyun caused quite the stir after cozy snaps of him and idol-actress Lim Nayoung surfaced online. The duo had been spotted together at the electronic music festival Ultra Korea on June 7. As dating rumours continued to grow, Kim Soo-hyun’s label GOLDMEDALIST issued a statement. “It is not true in the slightest,” they stated. Meanwhile, Nayoung’s label MASK STUDIO clarified, “The two met by chance at the festival. The venue was so noisy that they could not communicate, so they had to whisper in each other’s ears. The dating rumors are not true.”
After 18-long-months, BTS’ Jin finally returned from the military on June 12. The Awake singer, who enlisted in December 2022, was welcomed back by his fellow bandmates. At the reunion, leader Kim Namjoon played a saxophone version of Dynamite.
A day after his discharge, Jin held a special event to celebrate his return from the military as well as BTS’ 11th debut anniversary. The talented star hugged a 1000 lucky fans, performed his hit solo tracks and hosted a live Eat Jin session at BTS Festa 2024.
Former Hello Venus member Yoo Ara recently revealed that she been battling cancer. Taking to Instagram, the ex K-pop star shared that she hasn’t been active lately as she underwent a surgery to remove a malignant tumor. The idol-actress reassured fans that her health was improving, writing, “You must have been very shocked, but I didn’t write this for you to worry. I just wanted to tell you that I’m doing well. Don’t worry too much, please.”
On June 11, NCT’s Renjun lashed out at sasaeng fans who had persistently been tracking him even during his personal activities. While calling out the ‘unsettling stalkers,’ the NCT Dream member also revealed that one such fan had followed him on his flight and took pics of him while he slept, which caused significant distress. When asked, the sasaeng claimed that they were not following him.
Angry at the incidents, Renjun went on to expose the social media handle of the sasaeng fan who keeps on leaking his and other NCT member’s phone numbers. Sating that he will not tolerate anyone invading his privacy, Renjun shared his plans to take legal action.
EXO-CBX and SM Entertainment have been in the midst of a massive feud over royalties. On June 10, Chen, Baeukhyun and Xiumin’s label INB100 held a press conference in which they claimed that SM Entertainment had failed to meet the 5.5 percent music record distribution fee that had been agreed upon last year. The trio stated that their former label was unfairly demanding 10 percent of sales for EXO-CBX’s individual activities and did not provide existing settlement data.
SM Entertainment refuted the allegations made by Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin, saying, “CBX are enjoying the rights/benefits as EXO members but ignoring obligations.” Following that, on June 13, SM Entertainment filed a lawsuit against Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin. A day later, EXO-CBX announced their plans to counter-sue their former label.
