The K-pop and K-drama industry has been abuzz for the last seven days. From Blackpink‘s Jennie being caught up in dating rumours with GOT7’s BamBam to Nam Joo-hyuk getting discharged from the military, here’s every important thing that has happened in the Hallyu world over the last week.
BTBT crooner B.I, GOT7’s BamBam, EXO‘s Xiumin and Chen are coming to India! The K-pop stars are set to perform at the upcoming edition of K-Town Festival, that will be taking place at Mumbai’s NESCO Exhibition Centre on December 14, 2024.
On September 15, Stray Kids’ Felix celebrated his 24th birthday by donating 50 million won (Rs 31 lakh) to UNICEF for nutrition and water sanitation support project of children in Laos and another 50 million won to World Vision for a breakfast support project of underprivileged children in Korea.

K-drama star Kim Woo-bin recently opened up about his years long battle with cancer. The actor, who was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer in 2017, revealed that doctors had told him he had only six months left to live. Recalling the tough time, Woo-bin shared, “It was like a scene from a drama. Hearing that I only had ‘as short as six months’ to live was shocking and frightening, and I hoped it was just a dream.”
Blackpink’s Jennie and GOT7’s BamBam were recently spotted at Sushi Park in LA with their friends. Soon after, the K-pop idols were embroiled in dating rumours. However, Jennie’s label were quick to put an end to the rumours. “Jennie and BamBam are just close acquaintances and had a meal together. It’s not a date,” the label stated.
On September 16, a video of EXO’s Baekhyun smoking an e-cigarette inside a restaurant in Macau surfaced online. Soon after, Baekhyun’s label issued a formal apology. “We sincerely apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable regarding the recent incident involving our artist Baekhyun’s indoor smoking, which has been circulating online,” they stated, before adding, “At the time, neither Baekhyun nor our staff were aware that Macau prohibits the importation of electronic cigarettes. During a meal with staff after the Macau performance, as the conversation deepened, Baekhyun unconsciously used an electronic cigarette.”
