Tony Todd, best known for his role in “Candyman” and “Final Destination,” has died. He was 69.
“Regretfully, I can confirm that my friend and client of over 30 years, Tony Todd, has passed away on Wednesday November 6, 2024, peacefully at his home in Marina Del Rey,” Todd’s rep confirmed with Fox News Digital.
“I am lucky to have been able to work with this amazing man and I will miss him every single day.”

A cause of death for the longtime actor was not immediately revealed.
Several of Todd’s Hollywood colleagues have paid tribute to the late actor.
“The industry has lost a legend. We have lost a cherished friend. Rest in peace, Tony. -Your Final Destination Family,” New Line Cinema, the film company that produced the “Final Destination” franchise, wrote on social media.
Todd’s “Candyman” co-star, Virginia Madsen, shared an emotional video on Instagram after the actor’s death.
“My beloved. May you rest in power sweet to the sweet in heaven. The great actor Tony Todd has left us and now is an angel. As he was in life. More later but I can’t right now. I love you,” her social media caption read.
In the selfie video, Madsen said, “I just… found out about Tony, I don’t know what to say right now… I will say more later, my beloved Candyman… ”
Madsen was seen rubbing her tearful eyes as she talked about her late co-star.

Todd was born on December 4, 1954, in Washington, D.C. The actor studied at the University of Connecticut for two years, then received a scholarship to the Eugene O’Neill National Theatre Institute.
He made his film debut in the 1986 fantasy movie, “Sleepwalk.” Todd’s impressive acting career spans more than 200 television and movie credits. He’s famously recognized for his chilling performance in the 1992 film, “Candyman.” Todd portrayed the hook-wielding ghost in the horror classic.

The actor reprised his role in “Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh” and “Candyman: Day of the Dead.”
In the 2000s, Todd played the character William Bludworth in the “Final Destination” franchise. He starred in the first horror film and returned for “Final Destination 2” and “Final Destination 5.”
Todd’s other extensive film and television credits include, the 1990 movie, “Night of the Living Dead,” 1996’s “The Rock,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” “Star Trek: Voyager” and more.

Todd is survived by his wife, Fatima, and two children, Alex and Ariana.
