With an undefeated 8-0 start, the Chiefs are the talk of the NFL, drawing comparisons to Tom Brady‘s Patriots in 2007. However, NFL analyst Rob Parker warns that the Chiefs’ perfect record could easily crumble with a single loss, predicting they can be beaten.
Despite concerns, Tom Brady keeps the Chiefs at the top of his power rankings, saying,“If you’re undefeated, you better believe you’re going to stay at the top of my power rankings.” As Kansas City prepares for a tough matchup against the Broncos, head coach Andy Reid remains cautious, praising Denver’s talent and execution. Since retiring from football in 2022, Tom Brady has expanded his career beyond being a Fox Sports broadcaster to becoming a 5% part owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. With his new role come certain rules, one of which prevents him from criticizing league officials as part of his analyst duties. However, during the Packers vs. Lions game on Sunday, Brady may have forgotten that rule.
When Lions safety Brian Branch was ejected from the game, Brady didn’t hold back his opinion. “I don’t love that call at all. Obviously, it’s a penalty, but to me, that has to be serious intent in a game like this.” Brady remarked. What sparked Brady‘s frustration? After Branch hit Packers receiver Bo Melton in the head, he was penalized for unnecessary roughness. The league office later reviewed the incident and decided Branch should be ejected, which visibly upset the safety as he left the field.
Fortunately for Brady, he managed to avoid punishment. NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy clarified that Brady’s comments did not meet the threshold for an egregious critique of officials or their integrity, so no fine was imposed. However, Brady is likely aware that any further missteps could lead to hefty fines, as the NFL is known for taking a firm stance on such matters.
