Tennessee Basketball is one of the final five programs for Josiah Sanders, a 2025 three-star combo guard out of Colorado Prep in Denver, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. Colorado, San Diego State, Northwestern and Stanford are the other four teams in the final five for Sanders.
Sanders, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound prospect, is ranked No. 136 overall according to the On3 ratings. He’s the No. 8 combo guard in the class and the No. 1 player in the state of Colorado.
Tipton reported that Tennessee will host Sanders for an official visit on September 14. He’ll also visit his other four finalists, going to Colorado on August 29, San Diego State on September 7, Northwestern on November 22 and Stanford on October 4.
The Vols are also scheduled to host four-star shooting guard Darius Adams and four-star small forward Tounde Yessoufou the weekend of September 14.
“Seeing how they develop their players, that’s been one main thing for me,” Sanders told Tipton. “And then just Coach Barnes, they do a great job up there. That’s a top-15 team in the country every year so just seeing how I could be a part of that as a point guard and just playing in the SEC at a high level. I think that’s been great.
“And then just the relationship that I have with the coaching staff up there as well. In Knoxville, they have a great support system. I go to a prep school now so it’s not like we have fans at every game but I think at the next level I definitely want to be playing in front of a lot of people. They have like 24,000 seat arena so it doesn’t get much better than that at the college level.”
Tennessee has multiple official visits scheduled for the fall, including four-star point guard Isaiah Dennis (October 11) and four-star shooting guard Braylon Mullins (October 19), along with other possible visitors.
Adams is the No. 18 overall player in the 2025 class according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He’s the No. 6 shooting guard and the No. 2 player in the state of Indiana, where he attends La Lumiere School.
Dennis, a 6-foot-5, 170-pound prospect out of Davidson Day School in Davidson, N.C., is the No. 81 overall player in the On3 Industry Ranking. He’s the No. 14 point guard int he 2025 class and the No. 3 overall player in the state of North Carolina.
Mullins, a 6-foot-4, 180-pound shooting guard out of Greenfield-Central School in Greenfield, Indiana, is the No. 26 overall player in the class. He’s ranked No. 8 among shooting guards and No. 3 overall in Indiana.
The Vols currently have one commitment in the 2025 recruiting class, from four-star center Dewayne Brown.
The 6-foot-9, 235-pound prospect out of Hoover, Alabama, committed to Tennessee on April 20.
Brown is ranked No. 103 overall in the On3 Industry Ranking and is the No. 10 center in the country and the No. 1 player in the state of Alabama.
