The Indian team will leave for the T20 World Cup after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League. The Rohit Sharma-led side will be looking to win their second World Cup title after 2007.
After winning the T20 World Cup in 2007 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Team India is still waiting to become the champion for the second time. However, under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, it is believed that India is a strong contender for the title in the match to be held in the West Indies and America, but there are some players in the team whose poor form remains a concern. So, who are these three players?
Mohammed Siraj can be a weak link.
Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh have been named in India’s T20I squad for the upcoming World Cup. However, Siraj hasn’t been in great form. Siraj has not been able to show anything special in bowling in IPL 2024. Barring the last few games, he has flopped badly in bowling. Siraj has only managed to pick 12 wickets in 12 matches for RCB this season. In such a situation, Mohammed Siraj can become a weak link for Team India in the T20 World Cup.
Rohit Sharma is yet to get off to a good start.
Mohammed Siraj and Rohit Sharma are the other two Indians in the squad. Rohit Sharma has been in sublime form for Mumbai Indians this season. He has definitely scored a century this season, but the team was defeated in that match as well. Talking about Rohit’s performance, in IPL 2024, he has been able to score only 349 runs in 13 matches. Rohit’s form has been a cause of concern for Team India.
Hardik Pandya has struggled with both bat and ball
Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya also seems to be struggling in both batting and bowling in IPL 2024. Hardik Pandya has been named the vice-captain for the T20 World Cup. He has a big responsibility in this tournament to prove useful with his all-round performance, but that doesn’t seem to be happening at the moment. In IPL 2024, Hardik has managed to score only 200 runs in 13 matches with 11 wickets.
