Penn State produced another large NFL rookie class, with 10 players landing on league rosters. Headlined by first-round picks Olu Fashanu and Chop Robinson, we work our way through PSU draft storylines on this latest episode of the Lions247 Podcast before turning attention toward potential top 2025 NFL Draft prospects.
Joined by colleagues Mark Brennan and Tyler Calvaruso, we take a pick-by-pick approach to Penn State’s eight-man draft class. Along with reflecting on each player’s path in Happy Valley, we review their fit with a new team and financial gains from an initial NFL contract. Along the way, there are several developments to address from a seven-round selection process that spanned Thursday through Saturday.
Meanwhile, two more former Nittany Lions have landed on NFL rosters as rookie free agents, while another is set to try out for the reigning Super Bowl champs. And we’re still waiting to learn of a league destination for one of Penn State’s most impactful defenders from recent years.
Our attention then shifts toward the 2025 NFL Draft, as countless “way-too-early” mock projections have been published this week. Edge rusher Abdul Carter stands out as a projected Round 1 talent from Penn State but several other teammates warrant attention in that conversation.
We finish with focus on the Transfer Portal, as the post-spring window ends Tuesday. It’s been a relatively quiet couple of weeks for Penn State. We’ve got some thoughts on what has happened (and hasn’t happened), along with an important note on roster retention.
