The Eagles are plugging along through the offseason workout program, and as the team begins the final phase, a deep and versatile depth chart and overall roster are starting to take shape.
The team has three more OTA sessions (May 28, May 30-31) before three days of mandatory minicamp (June 4-6).
Philadelphia is loaded on the offensive side of the football and has a potential All-Pro at every position, including two at offensive tackle and two at wide receiver.
PFF recently released their top 32 rankings for key offensive positions, and the Eagles had every critical offensive star land in the top ten at their respective positions.
The Eagles star slipped some in 2024, but he’s still in the top ten of PFF’s top quarterbacks list.
It was a roller coaster of a year for Hurts, who set career highs in passing yards, touchdowns and big-time throws, but also career highs in interceptions and lost fumbles. It was his third consecutive season of at least 10 rushing touchdowns, while he also led the position in rushing first downs.
It also just didn’t look like Hurts was fully healthy for a lot of the 2023 campaign. He wasn’t the same rushing threat overall, with lower missed tackles forced, yards per attempt and explosive run (20 yards or more) figures. It wasn’t as efficient or explosive a season as his 2022, but Hurts remains a constant threat from the position.
Barkley joins the Eagles after six seasons in New York and landed at No. 6 on the list from PFF.
After five years with the New York Giants, Saquon Barkley will be toting the rock behind a vaunted Eagles offensive line and hoping for more efficiency. Barkley is still one of the most talented running backs in the NFL but averaged just 3.9 yards per carry in 2023, despite rushing for 962 yards in 14 games.
His 70.2 grade in 2023 was down from his 77.1 grade in 2022, but Barkley still posted solid numbers and his 719 yards after contact ranked ninth. If he’s healthy, Barkley could explode in 2024.
Philadelphia has a dynamic duo of 1,000-yard receivers at the position, and they landed in the top five and top 20 overall from PFF.
A.J. BROWN (5th), PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
One of the toughest covers in all of football, A.J. Brown has the size, speed and skills to be productive against any defense. He averaged 2.52 yards per route run last season and broke 19 tackles with the ball in his hands.DEVONTA SMITH (16th), PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
With the entire Eagles offense not quite in sync much of last season, DeVonta Smith’s production suffered a little from his previous baseline. He remains an outstanding technician at the position and could bounce back in a revived offense this year.
Goedert missed 4+ games for the second straight season, but he’s still in the top six of PFF’s top 32.
Very little went well for the Eagles in 2023. They were let down by injuries, an aging defense and struggles at coordinator, as Jalen Hurts and the offense looked broken throughout the season. Goedert was not immune to the struggles, as he himself battled injuries and missed three games.
Still, the six-year pro has earned an 86.1 overall grade over the past three years, fourth among all players at the position.
