SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – The Notre Dame women’s basketball team remains at No. 3 in this week’s AP Top 25 poll after a not-so-busy week on the court.
The Fighting Irish (10-2) had the majority of last week off for final exams but returned to the court on Sunday afternoon to wrap up its non-conference schedule with an easy 97-54 win over Loyola Maryland.
The Irish are idle again until Sunday, Dec. 29, when Virginia visits South Bend. Tipoff is set for 12 p.m. EST on the ACC Network.
As for other regional teams, both Michigan State and Michigan dropped in this week’s poll after suffering losses. The Spartans (11-1) suffered their first loss on Friday to Alabama in the West Palm Beach Classic while the Wolverines (10-2) fell to No. 10 Oklahoma on Tuesday in the Jumpman Invitational.
Michigan State slid four spots from No. 15 to No. 19 while Michigan moved down three spots from No. 20 to No. 23.
