While he’s never going to be his team’s only option out of the backfield as long as Montgomery, 27, is around, Gibbs is nevertheless a good ATTD bet at -125 in this game thanks to his versatility as a runner and receiver.
Before Detroit’s bye last week, Gibbs had three touchdowns in Detroit’s last two games. He should get plenty of work both on the ground and in the passing game today against a Dallas defense that had all sorts of issues against both Derrick Henry and Alvin Kamara earlier this year.
In addition to both players’ success on the ground against the Cowboys defense, Kamara had three catches for 65 yards and a TD, including a 57-yard score on a screen pass.
Henry also had his longest catch of the season, a 23-yard reception, against Dallas. Even last week, when Dallas held up well against Pittsburgh’s running game, allowing just 92 yards on 26 carries, they gave up two catches for 35 yards to Najee Harris.
Don’t let the ‘Boys’ success slowing down Harris and the Steelers RBs last week fool you: this is a great matchup for Gibbs.
Jahmyr Gibbs Anytime TD (-125): 1 unit
*Gibbs’ receiving TD came on a designed lateral he took to the house against the Cardinals in Week 3.
Houston Texans vs. New England Patriots, 1 p.m. ET
First of all, this is an excellent price, as Diggs ATTD odds are +130 at DraftKings and +150 at bet365.
With Nico Collins out of the picture for the Texans, the biggest beneficiary should be Diggs. With Collins healthy, Diggs was option 1B for C.J. Stroud, as he was just behind Collins in both targets (Collins: 45, Diggs: 41) and receptions (Collins: 32, Diggs: 31).
While he’s been heavily featured so far this season, Diggs has just two receiving TDs on the year, both of which came back in Week 1. He did add a rushing TD in Week 4 against Jacksonville, though.
Still, there’s a ton of value in a player of Diggs’ caliber as Stroud’s de facto top target.
The Texans’ struggles in the run — both overall (4.0 yard per carry) and in the red zone (just three rushing TDs this year, including one by Diggs) — are another reason to like Diggs to score today. Stroud and Co. have been much better at passing than running in the red zone, and this team could be without starting RB Joe Mixon, who is questionable for this game.
We like Diggs to capitalize on what we expect to be heavy involvement, even against CB Christian Gonzalez, who is already among the league’s best corners in just his second year.
Stefon Diggs Anytime TD (+165): 1 Unit
Atlanta Falcons vs. Carolina Panthers, 4:25 p.m. ET
Like Diggs, the case for Robinson starts with this price, as he’s listed at -150 at bet365 and -180 at FanDuel.
While he’s only scored one touchdown this year that counted (he had one called back against the Saints two weeks ago), he’s due against Carolina’s abysmal rushing defense.
The Panthers opened the season by giving up 180 yards rushing to the Saints, and they’ve struggled in nearly every game since as injuries have depleted this unit.
Without DT Derrick Brown and LBs Shaq Thompson and Josey Jewell last week, Carolina gave up three rushing touchdowns to the Bears.
Those three are all out again this week. While banking on the Falcons’ coaching staff to give Robinson red zone touches has mostly been futile so far this year, we expect that to change in this game.
Give us Robinson to hit paydirt against the team he scored his first NFL touchdown against as a rookie back in Week 1 of the 2023 season.
