Wisconsin native Hunter Wohler representing home state at NFL combine
After a successful career with the Wisconsin Badgers, safety Hunter Wohler is hoping to take his talents to the next level.
The defensive backs take center stage at the NFL Scouting Combine on Friday, and with the focus on the passing game over the past decade, having cornerbacks and safeties that can run and cover are more valuable than ever.
Among those you won’t see is Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, who says he wants to play defensive back and wide receiver but will wait until Colorado’s pro day with the rest of the Big 12 prospects to participate in any drills.
Other prospects who could go in the first round of April’s draft include Michigan’s Will Johnson and Texas’ JahdaeBarron, who won the Jim Thorpe Award last season as college football’s best defensive back.
