Antique cars and items from a bygone era filled the historic main street of Ascension Parish’s westbank city of Donaldsonville. The 200 block of Railroad Avenue was turned back to the 1930s for a movie starring Michael B. Jordan. According to Caballero Casting, which had been seeking extras, filming has been planned for locations throughout southeast Louisiana, including New Orleans, Belle Chasse, St. Bernard, Braithwaite, Tickfaw, Hammond, Napoleonville and Thibodaux.

The owners of Tea-Rex of Lafayette recently opened their second location, with their first Tea Rex location at 120 Curran Ln., Suite B, in 2019. Bringing traditional Asian drinks and food and, more importantly, success, owner Duy Le states, “Tea-Rex is a Boba Tea store, we sell Boba tea, smoothies, fruit tea, Asian street food and Korean corn dogs.” Boba traditionally is made of tea, milk, water, sugar and tapioca pearls, Le said.
The first Tea -Rex became a success, with 90% of his customers being Americans. Owners Duy Le and wife Jennie Vo, officially opened its doors March 2 and brings some of Le’s favorite drinks and foods to a new area.

Dropping his album “Rare Air” April 12, and it hovered at 10th place on iTunes over the weekend. The album is a motivational piece, with lyrics about overcoming life’s obstacles and features three other artists, including Shante Scott Franklin, known as Curren$y, Keyia Folse, of Raceland; and Leury Pereyra of New York. The 32-year-old said the most important aspect of each song is the story that’s being told.

As kids gathered to play in Playground at Parc Sans Souci, Downtown Lafayette celebrated the grand opening of the park with a ribbon cutting.
The playground equipment is designed to accommodate children of all ages and with different abilities, said the Downtown Development Authority. Featuring side by side swings, trampoline, Merry-go-round that is wheelchair accessible, and a large slide that is connected to a Spaceball which is held by large ropes and allow kids to climb.
