Afghanistan’s Fazalhaq Farooqi continued to lead the wicket-takers’ list of the 2024 T20 World Cup with 17 scalps after the first semifinal encounter against South Africa in Tarouba, Trinidad on Thursday.
Though India pacer Arshdeep Singh went wicketless against England in the second semifinal in Guyana on Thursday, he remained in second position, with 15 wickets in seven games.
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah moved into the top-five after picking two wickets against England and took his tally to 13 for the tournament.
Though Bumrah is level on 13 wickets with Naveen-ul-Haq, Anrich Nortje, Alzarri Joseph and Adam Zampa, his stunning average of just 8.15 puts him ahead of the rest.
Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan and Bangladesh’s Rishad Hossain are the only spinners in the top-five list of the tournament’s leading wicket-takers.
