Racing Victoria vets have given 16 runners in the Caulfield Cup the all-clear to start after pre-race checks were conducted.
Three horses – the Danny O’Brien-trained Young Werther, the Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained Deny Knowledge and the Andrew Forsman-trained Positivity will all undergo further vet checks following inspections during the day on Thursday.
RV issued a statement that Positivity had been passed fit to start, but the mare had been replated and needed to undergo re-examination as a precaution on Friday.
In their statement, RV said vets had noticed a change in the gait of both Deny Knowledge and Young Werther which will require the pair to undergo another examination, also on Friday.
Japanese galloper Warp Speed and the Ciaron Maher-trained Sayedaty Sadaty, both stabled at the Werribee International Horse Centre for the duration of the Melbourne Spring Carnival, will be examined for the first time by RV vets on Friday.
