Since entering the league in 2022, Breece Hall has been one of the most explosive running backs in the NFL.
Hall took the league by storm in his rookie season with 463 yards on 80 carries and four touchdowns in just seven games. He also tallied 19 receptions with 218 yards with one receiving touchdown. However, his debut season was cut short in Week 7 after he tore his ACL in Denver er.
In his second season, though, Hall showed no signs of slowing down after his injury. New York started Hall on a pitch count after the team added some extra help in the running back room with veteran Dalvin Cook and rookie Izzy Abanikanda.
Hall quickly rebounded, though, and started off the 2023 season with a bang against the division rival Buffalo Bills. His first carry was a 26-yard rush. He finished the game with 127 yards on 10 carries and had an 83-yard rush. Playing behind a beaten-up offensive line and multiple quarterbacks, Hall still put up some really impressive numbers. Hall ran for 994 yards on 223 carries with five touchdowns. He also had 76 receptions with four receiving touchdowns.

Hall finished 13th overall in yards in 2023 and led all running backs in receiving yards with 591 yards. Christian McCaffrey was second with 564. Hall finished the 2023 season with a Pro Football Focus grade of 82.4 which was the eighth highest among all running backs — one behind Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier and one ahead of former Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones.
After two seasons in the league, Hall enters his third year as a pro with a lot of hype. PFF ranked all 32 running backs ahead of the 2024 season. Here’s where Hall finished among his peers.
PFF’s Thomas Valentine ranked Hall seventh in the league entering 2024. The reasons were simple: He finished with a top-10 grade and averaged 3.43 yards after contact per rushing attempt, which ranked sixth among running backs. Hall also looked just as electric after his ACL injury as he did before it.
Hall thinks highly of himself, too. He ranked himself No. 1 in the league ahead of Bijan Robinson, Christian McCaffrey, Jahmyr Gibbs, Derrick Henry and David Montgomery.

With another full offseason of workouts, rehab and with Rodgers back running the offense, Hall is set to have a breakout year in 2024. Jets general manager Joe Douglas made some big moves this offseason to add some much-needed help to the offensive line with All-Pro tackle Tyron Smith, former Jets and Ravens tackle Morgan Moses, former Ravens guard John Simpson and first-round rookie Olu Fashanu. Former first-round pick Alijah Vera-Tucker will also be returning from injury.
The Jets also drafted two new running backs — Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis — who will be Hall’s backups and create a nice tandem in the backfield. New York even signed veteran running back Tarik Cohen as a change-of-pace and special teams contributor.
With a healthy Rodgers and a beefed-up offensive line, Hall will look to exceed expectations in his third season.
