Ireland’s only Indian sculpture park, Victor’s Way located in Roundwood, has been unveiled as one of the most-loved Irish tourist spots based on user ratings on Tripadvisor.
The study, conducted by sports betting and casino site Tonybet, looked at the percentage of ‘excellent’ reviews compared to the total number of reviews on Tripadvisor for top Irish destinations. The destinations with the highest portion of ‘excellent’ reviews were then ranked top to bottom. Only places with 100 reviews or more were considered.
Victor’s Way comes eighth with ‘excellent’ reviews making up 81.9pc of all reviews.
The sculpture garden is spread out over 22 acres. It contains 33 black granite and three bronze sculptures ranging from 5ft to 15ft. It takes approximately one hour to walk around the park and at the end, guests can enjoy a photo exhibition, showing how the sculptures were crafted in India. There is also a craft shop which supports the park and Indian crafts makers.
All the sculptures were designed in Roundwood and then hand cut in a dedicated workshop in Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu in India. Victor’s Way is also home to the largest Fasting Buddha Statue in Europe.
Kilkee Cliff Walk in County Clare was the tourist spot with the highest number of ‘excellent’ reviews, making up 91.8pc of all reviews. Leprechaun and Fairy Underground Cavern in Carlingford, County Louth was the second highest-rated location.
A spokesperson from Tonybet said: “Ireland has long been known for its beautiful countryside and scenic views. This study has highlighted just some of the many hidden gems that visitors can include in their travels.
