Ace India batter Virat Kohli has said that he didn’t have to struggle or make any sacrifices during his journey to become a top Indian cricketer. He has opened up about his cricketing journey and revealed if he ever made any sacrifices or struggled through his way. Over the last 16 years, he has been the most successful Indian cricketer.
During his appearance at an Asian Paints event, Kohli indulged in a conversation with Gaurav Kapur and shared that there has been no struggle or sacrifice in his journey.
Revealing the true meaning of struggle, Kohli stated that one cannot glorify hard work as struggle. He said that hard work is necessary for the job and that cannot be counted as struggle.
“Honestly sitting in my position, I cannot use words like sacrifices and struggle. For me, there has been no struggle and no sacrifice. I am doing what I love. Struggle uski hoti hai jisko 2 waqt ki roti nahi milti hai din ki. Humari struggle nahi hai,” Kohli said.
“Aap apne hardwork ko struggle bolke glorify kar sakte ho, uspe cherry on top laga sakte ho. Aapko koi nahi bol raha gym mei jaane ke liye, but you have to feed your family,” Kohli added.
The Indian cricketer said that he considers himself to be in a very privileged position as he is doing what he loves to do. Kohli said that there are people out there who face real problems in their lives and those problems cannot be compared with his getting out in a Test.
“Mai apne aap ko bahot privileged position mei maanta hoon kyuki I am getting to do what I have always loved to do. I play a sport. If you really think about the real problems that people face in life, you cannot compare getting out in a Test match to the one who doesn’t have a roof over his head,” Kohli said.
Kohli will feature in the Royal Challengers Bangalore‘s match against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday afternoon.
