A 134-rated hurdler, THE FRIDAY MAN lost his form over fences when moved away from Gordon Elliott’s yard but is worth taking a chance on now returned there. Ochocinco and Ceroc have run well enough over fences and can get involved.
Lightly-raced for his age, CALAHILL can follow up his Downpatrick win even though up in trip and 9lb higher in the weights. Cullenwaine is still nicely werighted over fences and was hampered last time, so is a danger. Ocodango Boy, Rock On Pedro and Loup De Tallane can run well.
Smart handicap chaser Brideswell Lad catches the eye off his significantly lower mark, but this trip looks inadequate and this may be just a pipe-opener for Listowel. WAJAAHA, whose last run was on the Flat, gets the vote on the strength of a long-priced Galway second. First Dare and Ta Na La should be in the mix.
This low-grade handicap can go to HEART ABOVE, who ran one of his best races over hurdles when second at Cartmel last month. The unexposed Fairmac and the consistent Game Beaaa are two others who should run well.
Blackwater Lilly displayed improvement when second in a big-field mares’ race at Uttoxeter in July and is respected but MILVERTON raced exuberantly for a long way when second to a subsequent hurdle winner at Perth last month and can improve if he uses his energy more efficiently.
