Video of Old Colony’s Max Finney’s 1,000th career point
Old Colony’s Max Finney surpassed 1,000 career points against Tri-County.
As soon as he saw the play, UMass Dartmouth announcer Brady Couto said, “Dial up Bristol, Connecticut for this.”
ESPN agreed.
During Wednesday’s Little East Conference game against Rhode Island College, UMD’s Nic Boyd lobbed the ball up to Camden Dunbury for a thunderous one-handed alley-oop dunk, earning the No. 1 spot on SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays the following morning.
Dunbury, a junior transfer from Bridgewater State University, recorded his first double-double at UMass Dartmouth, finishing the game with 15 points and 12 rebounds. He also had three blocks and a steal.
Couto made the memorable call, “Boyd with the lob, Dunbury with the poster! Wow!” that was played over and over again on ESPN on Thursday.
The 18-year-old Couto is a Swansea native who attended Case High School. He started as a color commentator for Case basketball on Swansea Community Network in December of 2019. He eventually became the lead play-by-play broadcaster for Case Athletics from 2020-24.
Couto is currently the track announcer at Seekonk Speedway and Case’s public address announcer as well as seven different colleges across New England.
