HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – The Hastings College women’s basketball team has re-entered the NAIA Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, securing the No. 24 spot in the latest rankings released Wednesday. The Broncos were ranked 25th in the Jan. 15 poll before falling out in the Jan. 29 update.
Hastings shockingly upset No. 1 Dordt, who remains atop the poll with a 24-1 record, on Feb. 1 and is currently on a five-game winning streak with an 18-6 record. The Defenders earned 15 of 20 first-place votes in the updated poll. Southern Oregon, Indiana Wesleyan and Campbellsville (Ky.) also received first-place votes.

The NAIA Top 25 rankings are determined by a panel of head coaches representing each conference and the Continental Athletic Conference (Independents). The voting system awards 30 points for a first-place vote, 29 for second place and so on. The highest and lowest votes for each team are removed before finalizing the rankings.
