1stDibs unveiled its Luxury E-Commerce Report on Wednesday, offering insights into the platform’s 2024 data and analytics.
Notably, the 1997 Tom Ford for Gucci fur Chubby was the platform’s top fashion sale, while John Galliano’s newsprint dress for Christian Dior amassed over 200,000 views.
The handbags category saw Bottega Veneta orders grow by 76% year-over-year, with Matthieu Blazy’s designs like the Kalimero and Andiamo driving demand during his tenure as creative director.
Hermès continued to dominate as the top-selling brand, with a 57% increase in orders. Burgundy emerged as Fall/Winter 2024’s top colour, echoing the “Unexpected Red Theory,” which suggests red accents elevate both interiors and fashion.
Heritage brands like Tiffany & Co., Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels led the jewelry category, with Tiffany & Co. achieving a 41% rise in orders. Elsa Peretti’s designs saw a resurgence in popularity. Opals also experienced a significant boost, with a 32% increase in orders, securing a spot among the top five gemstones for 2024.
Rolex dominated the watch segment, responsible for three of the top five best-selling styles, reaffirming its appeal among collectors and enthusiasts.
