France, Portugal, England and Japan are some of the world’s top travel destinations, according to a new report from TravelHub.
The latest booking data from the travel site show that travellers’ favourite girls’ trip destination is Biarritz, France — 88 per cent of trips to the French city are booked by women travellers — while São Jorge Island, Portugal, is preferred for a getaway with the boys (76 per cent of bookings are made by men).
For Boomers, London, England, is the place to be, while Gen Z is most interested in seeing the sights in Tokyo, Japan.
The data also shows that solo travellers have a penchant for Istanbul, Turkey, and that New Dehli, India, is the top choice for one-way flights.
Taipei, Taiwan, has seen a significant increase in interest, with an 88 per cent growth in booking year-on-year. Manila, Philippines, is also a traveller favourite, with the most bookings of any destination.
Tehran has experienced the highest number of cancellations, likely due to the ongoing political situation in Iran, and bookings for Mexico City have slipped by 10 per cent, pushing it out of the top 10 destinations.
The longest flight booked on TravelHub went from New York’s JFK Airport to Singapore in 21 hours and 55 minutes. The shortest flight — from Saint Martin to Anguilla — took just 10 minutes.
