Four Shenandoah District teams make the top 10 in the state in latest coaches poll

Buffalo Gap girls make the top 10 in the Class 1 poll
Stuarts Draft is in the top 10 for the Class 2 girls poll
Both Staunton and Wilson Memorial land in the top 10 for Class 3 boys

The Basketball Coaches Association of Virginia (BCAV) released its most recent coaches poll for both girls and boys in all six Virginia High School League classifications. It is the last poll before the playoffs start, but not the last one of the season.

BCAV sends out ballots to member coaches on the first and 15th of each month. Coaches have 48 hours to submit their ballot and BCAV announces the updated Top 10 polls on the third day. The final poll of the season will be sent out to coaches March 15 after the VHSL state tournament is completed.

BCAV member coaches are the only people who vote in polls. Each member head coach receives a ballot for their specific gender and classification.

The association is new to high school basketball in Virginia this year.

The Buffalo Gap and Stuarts Draft girls both are in the top 10 in their respective classifications. In the boys rankings, Staunton and Wilson Memorial are both in the Class 3 top 10.
