Week 7 Waiver Priority List
This will be a crazy week on the waiver wire heading into Week 7. Davante Adams was traded to the Jets on Tuesday morning for a conditional third-round pick that could become a second-rounder based on performance, and now Aaron Rodgers is back on the radar as a starting Fantasy quarterback. And the Bills got Amari Cooper from the Browns for a swap of third-round picks.
We have plenty of running back injuries — James Cook (toe), Aaron Jones (hip), Jordan Mason (shoulder) and Rachaad White (foot), among others — that could lead to increased roles for Ray Davis (38 percent rostered on CBS Sports), Ty Chandler (51 percent), Isaac Guerendo (8 percent) and Sean Tucker (1 percent), but those guys all have brutal matchups. Davis faces Tennessee, Chandler gets Detroit, Guerendo plays Kansas City and Tucker matches up with Baltimore.
Receiver has some intriguing options to add in JuJu Smith-Schuster (42 percent), Demario Douglas (17 percent), Christian Watson (47 percent), Romeo Doubs (45 percent) and Xavier Legette (39 percent). And those guys could be needed with injuries to Marvin Harrison Jr. (concussion), Chris Olave (concussion), Rashid Shaheed (knee) and Dontayvion Wicks (shoulder) coming out of Week 6.
Dallas Goedert (hamstring) is the biggest injury at tight end, and some replacement options for him include Hunter Henry (34 percent), Taysom Hill (39 percent), Dalton Schultz (53 percent), Zach Ertz (64 percent) and Cade Otton (39 percent). It’s actually not a bad week for the position.
And the biggest prize at quarterback is now Rodgers (55 percent), who should benefit in a big way with Adams joining the Jets. But Drake Maye (18 percent) and even Matthew Stafford (43 percent), who could get Cooper Kupp (ankle) back in Week 7, are other options to consider at quarterback as well.
We’ll discuss these players and a lot more options below, including streaming DSTs and kickers to use in Week 7. Get ready to make a lot of moves to help your roster, especially if injuries and the bye weeks are making things challenging for your Fantasy team.
Editor’s note: For this waiver wire column, we are mainly looking at players rostered in less than 65 percent of CBS Sports leagues.
Injuries: Anthony Richardson (oblique), Tua Tagovailoa (concussion), Matthew Stafford (back), Derek Carr (oblique) and Skylar Thompson (ribs).
On a bye: Caleb Williams and Dak Prescott
Check to see if available in shallow leagues: Caleb Williams (83 percent rostered), Anthony Richardson (82 percent), Geno Smith (82 percent) and Sam Darnold (73 percent). You should roster Williams even when he’s on a bye. He’s scored at least 27.6 Fantasy points in each of his past two games. … Richardson is expected to return in Week 7 from his two-game absence, and he has a great matchup against the Dolphins. When healthy, Richardson still has top-10 upside as a Fantasy quarterback this year. … Smith struggled with 14.5 Fantasy points in Week 6 against San Francisco, but prior to that he scored at least 23.6 points in his previous two outings against the Lions and Giants. He should be considered a low-end starter in all leagues moving forward, including Week 7 at Atlanta. … Darnold scored at least 23.9 Fantasy points in three of his past four games, and he has a good matchup in Week 7 against Detroit. He’s worth using as a low-end starter in all leagues.
Drop candidates: Justin Fields (83 percent rostered), Justin Herbert (56 percent), Deshaun Watson (44 percent) and Derek Carr (39 percent). It seems like Fields is about to get benched in favor of Russell Wilson, so you can drop Fields if he’s not starting for the Steelers. Despite scoring at least 19.9 Fantasy points in four games in a row, Fields won’t help Fantasy managers if he’s sitting on the bench. … Herbert just had his best Fantasy game of the season in Week 6 at Denver, which was 15.7 points. He’s unlikely to be useful as a Fantasy starter in one-quarterback leagues this year. … Watson is arguably the worst quarterback in the NFL this season. And he’s not a good Fantasy option either since he’s passed for 200 yards or less in every game this season and has one outing with more than 15.4 points. … Carr is not expected to play in Week 7 against Denver, and FOX Sports reported Sunday that Carr could miss another 2-3 weeks after that. There’s no reason to roster him in one-quarterback leagues while he’s injured.

Injuries: Christian McCaffrey (calf), Jordan Mason (shoulder), Jonathan Taylor (ankle), Aaron Jones (hip), James Cook (toe), Travis Etienne (hamstring), Brian Robinson Jr. (knee), De’Von Achane (concussion), Rhamondre Stevenson (foot), Nick Chubb (knee), Jerome Ford (hamstring), Rachaad White (foot), Jonathon Brooks (knee), Isiah Pacheco (leg), Devin Singletary (groin), Tyjae Spears (hamstring), Zamir White (groin), Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle), Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness), Gus Edwards (ankle) and MarShawn Lloyd (ankle).
On a bye: D’Andre Swift, Roschon Johnson, Rico Dowdle and Ezekiel Elliott
Check to see if available in shallow leagues: Raheem Mostert (83 percent rostered), Jonathon Brooks (80 percent), Trey Sermon (74 percent), Alexander Mattison (74 percent), Antonio Gibson (72 percent) and Tyler Allgeier (66 percent). Mostert might be the lead running back for the Dolphins in Week 7 against the Colts if De’Von Achane (concussion) is out, which would make him a must-start option in all leagues. Even if Achane plays, Mostert would be at least a flex, and he should be rostered in all formats. … Brooks (knee) could start to practice this week, which means he’s getting closer to making his NFL debut. When healthy, he could emerge as a league winner to close the season, so make sure he’s added in all leagues. … Sermon could start again for Jonathan Taylor (ankle) in Week 7 against Miami, which is a fantastic matchup. If that happens then Sermon would be a borderline starter in all leagues. … Mattison just had his best game of the season with 17.5 PPR points, which included five catches for 32 yards on five targets. He now has consecutive games with at least 17 total touches, and he’ll be a flex option in all leagues as long as he remains the lead running back for the Raiders. And he has a great matchup in Week 7 against the Rams. … Gibson could start again for the Patriots in Week 7 against the Jaguars in London if Rhamondre Stevenson (foot) remains out, and that’s a great matchup. If Stevenson sits again then consider Gibson a borderline starter in all leagues. … Allgeier has flex appeal working in tandem with Bijan Robinson, and Allgeier just scored 19.8 PPR points in Week 6 at Carolina. And he has another good matchup in Week 7 against Seattle. Allgeier also is a lottery ticket in case Robinson were to miss any time.
Drop candidates: Jerome Ford (87 percent rostered), Justice Hill (68 percent), Zamir White (51 percent) and Cam Akers (47 percent). Ford is considered week-to-week with a hamstring injury, and now Nick Chubb is back. You can drop Ford in most leagues. … Hill only had two total touches in Week 6 against Washington and has now scored 7.4 PPR points in four of six games. You can drop Hill if needed, especially in non-PPR leagues. … White has now missed two games in a row with a groin injury, and we don’t know when he’ll return. Along with that, we don’t know what role he’ll have since he struggled before getting injured, scoring 6.8 PPR points or less in the first four games of the season. … With Joe Mixon and Dameon Pierce back for the Texans, it’s doubtful Akers will get many touches. It’s safe to drop him in the majority of leagues.

Injuries: Marvin Harrison Jr. (concussion), Chris Olave (concussion), Rashid Shaheed (knee), Nico Collins (hamstring), Malik Nabers (concussion), Davante Adams (hamstring), Jakobi Meyers (ankle), Puka Nacua (knee), Cooper Kupp (ankle), Jayden Reed (ankle), Dontayvion Wicks (shoulder), Mike Williams (head), Brandin Cooks (knee), Jordan Whittington (shoulder) and Adam Thielen (hamstring)
On a bye: CeeDee Lamb, Jalen Tolbert, D.J. Moore, Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze.
Check to see if available in shallow leagues: Jordan Addison (82 percent rostered), Jakobi Meyers (74 percent), Ladd McConkey (70 percent), Jalen Tolbert (69 percent), Keenan Allen (66 percent) and Josh Downs (66 percent). Addison should be added in all leagues with Minnesota coming off its bye, and hopefully he’ll have a strong finish to the season. He’s worth using as a high-end No. 3 Fantasy receiver in the majority of leagues when healthy, including Week 7 against Detroit. … Meyers missed Week 6 against Pittsburgh with a foot injury, but hopefully he’ll be fine for Week 7 against the Rams. Meyers will now be the No. 1 receiver for the Raiders moving forward after Davante Adams was traded to the Jets, and I like Meyers as a high-end No. 3 Fantasy receiver for the rest of the season. … McConkey had a down game in Week 6 at Denver with four catches for 43 yards, but he had eight targets. He’s averaging seven targets a game in his past three outings, and he could emerge as a No. 3 PPR receiver for the rest of the season if he continues to get seven targets a week.
Tolbert had a down game in Week 6 against Detroit with 8.3 PPR points, but he scored 13.2 PPR points in three of his past four games prior to facing the Lions. Even with Dallas on a bye in Week 7, I still want to roster Tolbert in all leagues while Brandin Cooks (knee) is on IR. … Allen is worth holding through his bye based on how well Caleb Williams has played, along with a favorable upcoming schedule. After the Week 7 bye, Chicago faces Washington, Arizona and New England, and hopefully Williams and Allen can continue to connect on a high level. Against Jacksonville in Week 6, Allen had five catches for 41 yards and two touchdowns on five targets. … We’ll see how Downs does with Anthony Richardson (oblique) back, but Downs has been awesome for the past three games with Joe Flacco. Over that span, Downs has scored at least 15.9 PPR points in each outing, and he has at least nine targets, seven catches and 66 yards in each game, with two touchdowns. I’ll still trust Downs as at least a No. 3 receiver, with his value higher in PPR, in Week 7 against the Dolphins, and hopefully Richardson can keep Downs playing at a high level for the rest of the season.
Drop candidates: Calvin Ridley (85 percent rostered), Dontayvion Wicks (68 percent), Jauan Jennings (65 percent), DeAndre Hopkins (65 percent) and Darius Slayton (63 percent). Ridley and Hopkins might have some good moments moving forward, but both are struggling right now with Will Levis. I’d rather hold Ridley then Hopkins, but both are droppable in 10-team leagues and shallow 12-team leagues as well. … Wicks is considered week-to-week with his shoulder injury, and you can drop him with Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs now active for the Packers. … Jennings will be tough to trust when Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk are healthy, and Jennings has scored 8.0 PPR points in his past two games. … Slayton is about to fall to third on the depth chart again with Malik Nabers (concussion) expected to return in Week 7. With Nabers back, Slayton’s role will be minimal, and he scored 8.6 PPR points or less in each of the first four games with Nabers healthy.

Injuries: Dallas Goedert (hamstring), Taysom Hill (ribs) and T.J. Hockenson (knee).
On a bye: Jake Ferguson and Cole Kmet.
Check to see if available in shallow leagues: Mark Andrews (84 percent rostered), Evan Engram (76 percent), T.J. Hockenson (73 percent), David Njoku (73 percent) and Cole Kmet (72 percent). Andrews had his best game of the season in Week 6 against Washington with three catches for 66 yards and a touchdown on four targets. He’s not all the way back yet to being a must-start option, but he should be rostered in all leagues. … Engram is back to being a must-start option after he returned in Week 6 against Chicago from a four-game absence with a hamstring injury and caught 10 passes for 102 yards on 10 targets, although he lost a fumble. Engram has top-five upside heading into Week 7 against New England. … Hockenson could make his season debut in Week 7 against Detroit, and he’s worth adding in all leagues. When healthy, Hockenson can be a low-end starter, but the Vikings might not activate him in Week 7, so keep that in mind. … Njoku could be the No. 1 option in the passing game for the Browns with Amari Cooper traded to Buffalo. And Njoku just had five catches for 31 yards on seven targets in Week 6 at Philadelphia. … Kmet is worth picking up during his bye week just to see if Caleb Williams continues to lean on him. In Week 6 against Jacksonville, Kmet had five catches for 70 yards and two touchdowns on five targets, and Kmet has now scored at least 24 PPR points in two of his past four games.
Drop candidates: Tyler Conklin (40 percent rostered) and Mike Gesicki (34 percent). Conklin picked a bad time to have a down game in Week 6 against the Bills with two catches for 10 yards on three targets. With Davante Adams now joining the Jets, Conklin will have a reduced role and will be tough to trust in most leagues. … Gesicki has combined for 5.2 PPR points in his past three games. There’s little reason to trust him, even in the deepest of leagues.
