Can we still call Dortch a sleeper? Certainly if you listen to the NFL Fantasy Football podcast or follow co-host LaQuan Jones, you’ve heard plenty about the Cardinals slot receiver. He had a respectable opening weekend with six catches for 47 yards. In Week 2 against the Rams, he was limited to just 21 snaps and two receptions, taking a backseat to Marvin Harrison Jr. in the rookie’s breakout game. I guess that’s what happens when your team runs off to an early 21-0 lead and cruises along.
That doesn’t mean Dortch is mothballed in the Cardinals offense, though. As Arizona’s primary slot receiver, he should play a big role in the Week 3 passing attack. Detroit hasn’t used a lot of two-high safety looks this season. That could change after Harrison’s big Week 2. If so, that should create space underneath for Dortch to get loose.
