Donovan Mitchell, Cleveland Cavaliers at Boston Celtics ($9,000) – After starting off slowly, Mitchell has heated up recently, as he’s gone over 60 FPTS in each of the last three games. The usage rate is a robust 31.3%. While these are two of the best defenses in the league, Cleveland and Boston rank No. 1 and 2 in offensive efficiency. This game has the highest total on the slate and it should be a playoff atmosphere, as Cleveland is still undefeated and Boston will likely want to remind them that they are the defending champs.
Other Options – Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($10,600), LaMelo Ball ($9,800), Kyrie Irving ($8,900), Jaylen Brown ($8,100), Darius Garland ($7,700), Derrick White ($6,900), Brandon Boston ($6,800), Brandon Miller ($6,600)
Jordan Clarkson, Utah Jazz at Los Angeles Lakers ($5,800) – This game has the second-highest total on the slate. Utah is ninth in pace while the Lakers are 11th. LA is 21st in defensive efficiency while Utah is 29th. There should be plenty of opportunities for fantasy goodies. Over the last five games, Clarkson has gone over 30 FPTS in each contest. He’s played exactly 30 minutes in each of the last four games.
Other Options – Christian Braun ($5,900), Jrue Holiday ($5,200), Lu Dort ($4,800), Dalton Knecht ($4,500)
Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers ($10,100) – As mentioned in the Mitchell section above, this game should be a competitive affair with a playoff-like atmosphere. Tatum is garnering a 31.7% usage rate on the season and has been stuffing the stat sheet all season, averaging 29.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.4 steals. He’s scored at least 50 FPTS in all but four games this season, with four over 60.
Other Options – LeBron James ($10,000), Jaylen Brown ($8,100), Jaren Jackson Jr. ($7,900), Lauri Markkanen ($7,000), Brandon Miller ($6,600), Miles Bridges ($6,300)
Trey Murphy III, New Orleans Pelicans at Dallas Mavericks ($5,600) – Murphy made his season debut three games ago and has played 26, 26 and 30 minutes. He contributed 21.25, 20 and 33.5 FPTS. He should get over 30 minutes in this one. With all the injuries, defenses have been blitzing and doubling Brandon Ingram. That should continue and Murphy should be a beneficiary. There is upside with Murphy. Last season, he exceeded 40 FPTS 10 times, with two over 50.
Other Options – Christian Braun ($5,900), Cameron Johnson ($5,600), PJ Washington ($5,500), Lu Dort ($4,800), Grant Williams ($4,800), Dalton Knecht ($4,500)
Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers vs. Utah Jazz ($10,700) – The center position is littered with injuries, so it’s ironic that AD looks to be the safest option from a health standpoint. What a time to be alive. Davis dominates at both ends of the court and stuffs the stat sheet. He’s gone over 50 FPTS in all but two games this season and has as high of 71.5. The Jazz play fast, eschew defense and are banged up in the front court, so Davis should eat like he’s at the buffet.
Other Options – Jarrett Allen ($7,300)
Jay Huff, Memphis Grizzlies vs. Denver Nuggets ($3,300) – With Zach Edey ruled out with an ankle injury, Huff will likely start and play over 20 minutes, possibly close to 30. On the season, he’s averaging a robust 1.21 FPTS per minute.
Other Options – Zach Collins ($5,500) if Wembanyama is out, Yves Missi ($5,000), Grant Williams ($4,800), Dario Saric ($4,700) if Jokic is out, Moussa Diabate ($4,200)
