The USA TODAY Coaches Poll Top 25 has been updated following a fascinating tenth week for the 2024-2025 men’s college basketball season.
Conference play is heating up, and it’s leading to some awesome matchups bringing intriguing results to the forefront. Still, many of the top teams in the country were able to stamp their mark on the week while others fell, leading to some serious changes.
With that in mind, the sport’s brightest coaching minds put their brains together to come up with some rankings after Week 10. Check out the Top 25 below, and see if your team made the cut as the season progresses.
Auburn climbs into the No. 1 spot of the Top 25 after seeing Tennessee’s loss. The Tigers picked up wins over Texas and South Carolina themselves, but lost All-American center Johni Broome to an ankle injury.
Looking ahead, a showdown with Mississippi State looms large on Tuesday, with a clash against Georgia taking place this coming weekend as well for the Tigers.
Iowa State climbs the rankings this week, picking up a midweek win over Utah before a thrilling overtime victory against Texas Tech on the road.
The Cyclones have a tough slate this week though. They’ll face Kansas on Wednesday, and follow that up with a showdown at West Virginia on Saturday evening.
Duke got a performance worthy of the hype from Cooper Flagg, first by way of highlight against Pitt, then with a stat-sheet-stuffing performance against Notre Dame.
ACC play has Duke facing Miami and Boston College this week. Not the best competition, so the Blue Devils will be expected to come back next week with two more wins.
Florida picked up one of the most convincing wins of the season, dominating Tennessee – the last unbeaten in college basketball at the time – before following it up with a road win against Arkansas.
The Gators will look to stay hot against Missouri on Tuesday, with Texas heading to Gainesville this weekend for what should be an interesting showdown, as well.
Alabama walked away with a convincing win against South Carolina in the midweek slate of games, setting themselves up for a big-time road win against Texas A&M in one of the games of the weekend.
The schedule doesn’t exactly lighten up for the Crimson Tide. They’ll welcome Ole Miss to town on Tuesday, before a trip to Lexington this weekend to face Kentucky.
Tennessee drops down the board after suffering its first loss of the season against Florida on Tuesday. The Volunteers bounced back quickly with a road win against Texas, keeping them from a larger slide.
Now, Tennessee has two games on the docket for this week. They’ll face Georgia on Wednesday, following by a clash against Vanderbilt on Saturday afternoon in Nashville.
Marquette played just one game this week, knocking off Georgetown in Big East play before taking the weekend off to prepare for more games to come.
DePaul is first up on Tuesday for the Golden Eagles. Then, Xavier will come to Milwaukee to face Marquette over the weekend.
Houston continues its climb back toward the top of the Top 25 with wins over TCU at home and Kansas State on the road. The Cougars have won all their Big 12 matchups by 13 points or more.
They’ll face two solid teams this week. West Virginia will come to the Fertitta Center on Wednesday, before Houston travels to face UCF on Saturday.
Kentucky started the week with a loss against Georgia on the road. The Wildcats did well to rebound, going on the road again to beat Mississippi State in a Top 25 showdown.
There’s a chance for two impressive wins this week for Kentucky. They’ll welcome Texas A&M to town on Tuesday, before Alabama follows them to Lexington this weekend.
Kansas has recovered from a slip-up at the end of 2024, starting 2025 strong. The Jayhawks picked up wins over Arizona State at home and Cincinnati on the road.
A huge opportunity is at the feet of Kansas, as they’ll travel to face Iowa State on Tuesday. After the monster showdown, a clash with Kansas State will follow on Saturday.
