A competitive seven-furlong handicap on the all-weather at Chelmsford is due off at 18:00 on Thursday. Plenty in with chances, but Chola Empire could be weighted to make an impact for trainer David Simcock.
The yard is currently operating at a 33% strike rate, and Luke Morris will be in the saddle. The five-year-old returned from an 80-day break at Wolverhampton in October, taking a very respectable fourth behind Yorkshire.
He is a solid performer over this distance, and has won three from 18 starts on the all-weather, while also finishing in the top three on a further nine occasions.
Likely needed that comeback run to get back up to speed, and a major player on his second start after a break.
