bmobile has been officially named Trinidad and Tobago’s fastest mobile network by Ookla® for Q3 and Q4 2024. This dual win solidifies bmobile’s position as the leader in mobile network performance within the country.
The Ookla Speedtest Awards are based on a rigorous analysis of thousands of consumer-initiated tests performed using the Speedtest® application.
“This is the first time bmobile has been recognized by Ookla, and receiving both the Fastest Mobile Network and Best Mobile Network awards reflects the hard work we’ve put in over the years,” said Kent Western, CEO of TSTT. He added, “This achievement highlights our commitment to enhancing connectivity across Trinidad and Tobago and proves what our customers already know – when it comes to speed and reliability, bmobile delivers.”
“By continually investing in and expanding our network infrastructure, we empower our customers to stay connected more quickly and reliably than ever before. This isn’t just a win for us, it’s a win for every person who relies on us to stay connected, work, and thrive. It’s also a testament to our team’s efforts and our company’s vision to advance connectivity in Trinidad and Tobago.
bmobile’s success is driven by its customer-first approach and strategic focus on enhancing its network.
Alongside significant investments in expanding its 4G LTE network, bmobile has optimized spectrum efficiency and enhanced its radio capacity across its entire network. This work has enabled customers to enjoy industry-leading mobile data speeds and have more seamless connectivity experiences. In 2025, bmobile will intensify its deployment efforts to further enhance its network and meet the evolving needs of its customers.
Being named the fastest mobile network in Trinidad and Tobago comes on the heels of the company winning four awards at the 2024 Telecommunications and Broadcasting Industry (TBI) Awards hosted by the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT). bmobile copped the Connect the Unconnected Award, Social Contribution Award, Sustainability Award and the Technological Disruptor Award for outstanding work in the various categories.
The company also closed off 2024 by becoming the first mobile provider in Trinidad and Tobago to introduce Voice over LTE (VoLTE), which allows customers to talk on their mobile phones and surf the internet simultaneously. VoLTE leverages the power of bmobile’s LTE network to enhance customer experience with crystal-clear voice quality, faster call connections, and the ability to enjoy uninterrupted internet browsing during calls.
bmobile’s recognition by Ookla reflects its commitment to excellence and its role as a technology leader in the telecommunications industry. “Our customers come first, always. That’s why we invest in the best technology, expand our reach and push the limits of what’s possible. They don’t settle so neither do we. They deserve nothing less than faster downloads, clearer calls and stronger connections and that’s exactly what we will continue to provide on our network,” stated Western.
As the company looks ahead, it remains focused on enhancing the customer experience and elevating mobile connectivity standards in Trinidad and Tobago.
