Bitget, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, has entered into a multi-million dollar partnership with La Liga, the premier Spanish football league, to serve as its official crypto partner. This agreement was announced at the Token2049 event in Singapore, highlighting Bitget’s strategic expansion into the sports sector, mainly targeting markets in Eastern and Southeast Asia and Latin America.
The Seychelles-based exchange has become La Liga’s official crypto partner, signifying a major push for crypto adoption in sports. The deal, set to last for two years, will focus on areas including Eastern, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, where both entities see tremendous growth opportunities.
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen stated,
“As the world of sports continues to embrace digital innovation, crypto, blockchain, and emerging technology are becoming integral to this transformation.”
The partnership aims to leverage Spain’s top league extensive fan base and Bitget’s technological prowess to enhance fan engagement through Web3 solutions.
Additionally, the crypto exchange’s partnership with La Liga will involve strategic collaborations beyond sponsorship. There are plans to enhance fans’ digital engagement, integrate blockchain-based rewards systems, and promote crypto adoption.
Javier Tebas, President of the Spanish league, showed enthusiasm for this new collaboration, saying,
“Over the last decade, digitalization and innovation have been among LALIGA’s priorities. We want to be pioneers and we are committed to it.”
The crypto exchange has continued to push for crypto adoption in sports. Lionel Messi, one of the greatest footballers, is currently an ambassador for the platform, a move that has also helped the exchange break into the LATAM market.
The collaboration will revolutionize how fans interact with the sport through innovations in AI, VR, and blockchain. La Liga has been at the forefront of adopting new technologies to enhance game strategies and performance analytics.
More importantly, Bitget brings its expertise in providing blockchain solutions, transforming fan experiences through interactive engagements. Moreover, this deal will likely influence the broader sports and entertainment industry.
Crypto adoption has been on the rise. Most recently, CoinGape highlighted Visa’s partnership with Singapore’s dtcpay to expand its crypto payments network. The collaboration will integrate dtcpay’s digital payment services with Visa’s vast network, allowing over 130 million merchants globally to process crypto transactions.
