Meekins was on fire all week, first dropping 40 points in a 78-27 victory against Windthorst, and scoring 31 for an encore during the Lady Indians’ 104-28 dismantlement of Petrolia.
Stark had one of his best performances of the season, scoring 35 points against Seymour on Friday. He was the game’s top scorer, although the Trojans lost the game, 62-51.
A main reason Stark’s big night didn’t lead to a Windthorst win was Anderson, who almost equaled the Windthorst junior with a 33-point performance, leading the Panthers to a key District 9-2A win.
Coleman went off for 27 points, and the Bearcats outlasted Vernon in two overtimes for an 81-73 victory Friday in District 7-3A action. Vernon got a 22-point performance from Adarius Williams.
White led the Bulldogs with 25 points and a second straight District 7-4A win, 89-52, over Bridgeport.
Knox City has established itself as one of the top teams in District 16-A after a tough non-district slate. Abila led the Greyhounds to a 61-31 victory against Crowell on Friday, scoring 24 points. Abila and teammate Joe Adam Morelos each had 20 points in a 64-35 victory against Northside on Tuesday.
Williams and the Mustangs continue to thrive in District 7-3A play after a tough non-district schedule, routing Iowa Park, 92-62, Friday with Williams leading all scorers with 24 points.
Castilleja scored a game-high 23 points in a 64-23 victory against Windthorst in District 9-2A play Friday, eclipsing 1,000 points for her high school career. Her teammate, Khloe Hons, achieved the same feat Tuesday during the Lady Panthers’ 56-14 victory against Olney.
Fatheree had a big night against Petrolia in District 9-2A action Friday, dropping a game-high 23 points in a 60-53 victory for the Indians.
Mann and the Jackrabbits pushed Holliday to overtime Friday, but the Eagles escaped with a 59-57 victory in District 7-3A action. However, Mann led all scorers with 22 points.
Woods nearly outscored Wheeler all by herself, posting 22 points in a 62-23 victory in District 2-2A action Friday.
Parks delivered an impressive double-double to open District 4-5A play Friday, scoring 20 points and securing 16 rebounds in a 55-51 overtime loss to Abilene High.
