Friday’s cards set us up for what should be another weekend of top-class national hunt racing.
Here are my best bets for Friday, setting us up to attack the weekend’s horse racing.

Having made a more than pleasing chasing debut to take second behind the talented Jagwar at Bangor, LOWRY’S BAR may have a bit up his sleeve off this mark on his second start over the larger obstacles.
A winner of four of his six starts over hurdles, and now signs that he may be about to eclipse what he achieved over hurdles, he can become a horse to keep on the right side of this season.
Lord Of Thunder may prove the most significant threat if he is over his Cheltenham fall.

Having been beaten on hurdles debut by The Kemble Brewery ( has won again since), JURANCON made no mistake next time out when putting race fitness to use when turning over the Aintree Grade 2 bumper second, Tripoli Flyer (43 lengths back to third).
That performance has set him up for possible tilts at bigger targets this season, and he should be capable of defying the penalty here.
He’s not flashy, but he is very effective in what he does.

Back-to-back impressive bumper performances saw BILL JOYCE sent off a single-figure price for the Champion Bumper, but in the end, he was well beaten back into 15th.
That run was too bad to be true, and he showed what he was capable of when strolling to victory on his hurdle debut at Carlise last month.
He travelled through that race in the manner of a very classy performer and never looked like he came out of second gear.
Bill Joyce faces two rivals today who arguably have as much potential as he does going into the race, but for me, he stamped himself as a horse to be reckoned with this season after his Carlise win.
He will be hard to bet here today.
