6 Hiyaam Proud (Bet Now: $3.40) looks hard to beat. Matt Laurie trained gelding that ran over 1700m here two weeks ago and looked all over the winner when presented to win but just found one better in Ruakaka Raider. The rise to 1800m looks ideal and fourth up from a break, he should be hard fit, ready to go.
Danger
11 Easy Dun (Bet Now: $9.00) is racing like a rise to 1800m will suit after racing over the mile at Donald last time where he was a bit on the one paced side when asked for the effort but he stayed on and was quite good in defeat I thought. Maps to do no work and 1800m should be ideal.
Long Shot
2 Haaracaine (Bet Now:
$SP.00) is an improving type for Nick Ryan that should appreciate a rise to 1800m after racing over 1700m here two weeks back where he got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never threatening, he did make up headway and was sound in defeat. Might want 2000m+, but he should be strong late.

1 Tycoon Star (Bet Now: $3.50) is one of the leading contenders. Market didn’t really take a liking to him when debuting at Flemington on Cup Day but he gave them a start, a beating, and was very impressive the way he put them away late in the piece to win quite impressively. Has to be regarded as one of the hardest to beat here.
Danger
5 Usain Boss (Bet Now: $5.00) is a well bred colt for Neasham/Archibald that debuts off impressive jumpout work where he has looked every bit a professional and looks well educated for start one so keen to see how he goes. Market will be a good guide.
Long Shot
10 Salty Pearl (Bet Now: $7.50) is a daughter of Tagaloa that is on debut for Ciaron Maher. This girl has had two jumpouts in readiness for start one, the latest jumpout being a win at Cranbourne on Monday where she moved well and had something left. Has the inside gate to use the rail as a guide and has early toe.

12 Alma Rise (Bet Now: $3.40) has become a winning machine for Moody/Coleman and has to be one of the hardest to beat. She has won two on the bounce, winning on Moe Cup Day two back before going to Flemington on Oaks Day when giving them a start and a beating to win well. On the up and is hard to beat.
Danger
9 Flamin Romans (Bet Now: $7.50) is racing well for Ciaron Maher and is one of the key chances. He ran over 2000m on Oaks Day at Flemington where he just got too far out of his ground but I thought he found the line with purpose in defeat behind the in form Alma Rise. The rise in trip, I think, is okay, and can take this out.
Long Shot
7 Basilinna (Bet Now: $26.00) has quality when right and the rise in trip should be fine. I’m forgiving of her run in the Matriarch where she just got too far out of her ground and although she made up headway, she was never really threatening behind Hinged. Back miles in grade/depth, she appeals.

5 Grinzinger Pod (Bet Now: $6.00) looks a filly with really good talent for Ben Brisbourne and is racing like she’ll eat up 1400m. Close up in the Crockett on Cox Plate Day before going here two weeks ago and was very good from near last behind surprise winner Jamine Rouge. Up to 1400m is ideal and with a more positive ride, she takes beating.
Danger
2 She’s Got Pizzazz (Bet Now: $3.60) rates highly. She comes through the race from two weeks back over 1200m here. She got back and was badly held up at times before eventually getting clear and was very good late in the piece. Good upside to come and up to 1400m, she’s hard to beat.
Long Shot
12 On Display (Bet Now: $4.50) has talent. She was good in defeat here a fortnight back over 1200m, getting back in the run but closed off with real purpose late in the piece behind Jasmin Rouge. If she can settle closer in the run, she will be hard to hold out.

3 Fancify (Bet Now: $3.00) is flying for Michael Hickmott and with her on speed racing pattern, she’s going to take running down. She won at Flemington on Cup Day over 1400m, leading throughout and credit to her, she was there to be beaten but she found under pressure to fend them off and win. She’ll land on speed again and be hard to get past.
Danger
1 I Am Unstoppable (Bet Now: $3.10) can run a much improved race at this level. He comes through the Champions Sprint when outclassed on paper and not sure he was 100% happy down the straight when down the track behind Sunshine In Paris. Back around a bending track and back miles in grade/depth, he takes beating.
Long Shot
2 It’sourtime (Bet Now: $7.50) is a straight track specialist but does like Caulfield too and has good form around him. He ran in the Rising Fast on Derby Day and kept finding the line without threatening behind Maharba. Has room for improvement and the depth here isn’t as deep.

2 Pisces (Bet Now: $2.60), I think, picks himself. He was an arrogant winner of the Blue Sapphire two weeks ago. Yes, he had things fall into place, but even allowing for that, gee he made a mess of them. He’ll eat up 1600m, he has all the upside in the world…I think good luck beating him.
Danger
I am very interested to see how 5 French Ruler (Bet Now: $6.00) goes for John Sargent after contesting the Spring Stakes where he was 1200m to the mile and got back, but Nash sliced his way through and drove hard late, just missing out on the win. Better for the run at the mile under the belt, he rates highly.
Long Shot
7 Somewhere (Bet Now: $11.00) is a beautiful looking son of Puissance De Lune so keen to see how he goes at this level after a debut win at Ballarat where he gave them a start and a beating and gee he let down like a good horse to win. Good test here, but confident he can measure up.

12 Poison Chalice (Bet Now: $5.50) looks one of the hardest to beat for Paul Preusker. He ran over the mile on Oaks Day at Flemington when back in the run and worked home well but seemingly had his chance in defeat behind impressive winner Light Infantry Man. Should appreciate a rise to 1800m, he’s one of the hardest to beat.
Danger
3 Ain’tnodeeldun (Bet Now: $11.00) looks to have returned in really good order and will take beating. He comes through the Light Infantry Man race from Oaks Day at Flemington where he tried hard from off the speed and kept closing when third. Hard fit and up in trip, he rates highly.
Long Shot
1 Uncle Bryn (Bet Now: $34.00) was scratched from the Cranbourne Cup in preference for this. He ran on Oaks Day at Flemington and was a bit on the plain side when down the track behind Light Infantry Man. He is hit and miss at times but his best is more than good enough to take this out.

If you look at the runs of 7 Le Don De Vie (Bet Now: $31.00), he hasn’t actually been too bad this prep. Getting too far back in his races, he has been finding the line well enough without threatening. Jumped out super at Cranbourne last week, he’s suited up to 2400m and a bit of juice in the ground is no issue. Bludger of a race, so for mine, he’s a speck.
Danger
3 Arapaho (Bet Now: $5.00) has upside and I think is on track for Bjorn Baker after contesting the Champions Stakes. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept finding the line and was quite good in defeat. Up in trip and hard fit, he appeals.
Long Shot
6 Berkeley Square (Bet Now: $10.00) is flying for Dan O’Sullivan and rates highly. Three weeks between runs since contesting the Queen Elizabeth when off the speed and kept chasing, being quite good in defeat behind Smokin Romans in a race dominated on speed. Back to 2400m and back to Caulfield, he rates highly.

1 Tuvalu (Bet Now: $2.60) has class and that class is going to carry him a long way towards victory. He resumed in the Rupert Clarke and was one of the runs of the meeting, closing off with purpose from the back out wide behind Kimochi. Back to a moderate WFA, should press forward and take beating.
Danger
4 Tamerlane (Bet Now: $8.00) looks the one with good upside for James Cummings. Just one soft trial into the resumption on Derby Day and he was there to win but first up, condition gave way. Better for the run, genuine horse, good racing style. I think he’s a lock to run top three.
Long Shot
3 Buffalo River (Bet Now: $17.00) has to be given another look. He did too much work in the run in the Rupert Clarke and rightfully tired late in the piece to finish down the track. If he finds the front and gets some form of front end control, he’ll take running down.

11 Regal Vow (Bet Now: $7.00) is a good each way gamble. I thought she was a super winner two weeks ago over 1400m, and won with something in hand. Only second up there, so she has room for improvement, the rise to 1600m is fine and she is the one on the up whereas most of these have either heat their peak, out of form and/or wanting the paddock.
Danger
13 So Glamorous (Bet Now: $9.50) is a leading contender. She comes through the Inglis Bracelet on Oaks Day where she got off the speed but presented to win and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there but was good in defeat when second to Running By. She rates highly against these.
Long Shot
9 Soul Choice (Bet Now:
$SP.00) comes back to the mile for GaiBott after racing over 2000m during Cup Week at Flemington where she was off speed and couldn’t fire a shot when down the track behind Alma Rise. Back to 1600m I don’t mind for her and she did look pretty good in a tick over jumpout.
