A Loyalsock Township man was identified as the pedestrian killed after he was struck by two vehicles on Interstate 180 West in Williamsport early on Thanksgiving Day.

Daniel Patrick Tripp, 21, died at UPMC Williamsport at 2:41 a.m. Thursday from blunt force trauma, Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. said.

Tripp was believed to have been intoxicated at the time when he walked out into the westbound lane and was hit by a vehicle, then struck by a second vehicle, Kiessling said.

The incident took place between the Hepburn and Maynard street exits, he said.
