Yes, it’s time to look at the NFL Draft order for 2025, because even though they’re only one game out of first in the NFC West, it’s far more likely that the Seattle Seahawks miss the playoffs than make it.
Sitting at 4-5, the Seahawks would have to do a whole lot of losing to get a top 10 pick. The reason for that is there are a lot of terrible teams in the NFL this year, and they’re not showing any signs of a revival. At the halfway mark of the regular season, there are nine teams with two wins, aka two fewer than the Seahawks.
Tankathon has got you covered:
The Seahawks would be picking 14th overall, or two spots higher than they did in the 2024 draft. Winning the NFC West or getting into the playoffs as a wild card would mean picking no higher than 19th.
It seems tempting to tank and I despise the concept (particularly in the NFL), but there are just too many bad teams for the Seahawks to “overcome” in all likelihood. I don’t think the Seahawks are going to go 4-13, in which case that’ll be enough to get them a top 10 pick, but the bar for a top 10 selection is being set pretty high from the teams that are very low in the standings.
