Zimbabwe smashed the record for the highest ever T20 international score as they plundered 4-344 to set up the biggest ever T20 international victory margin as they destroyed African neighbours Gambia by 290 runs.
The mammoth total in their T20 World Cup Africa Sub Regional Qualifier surpassed the previous record set by Nepal last year against Mongolia by 30 runs as the Zimbabwean batters cashed in.

All-rounder Sikandar Raza – who has played in the IPL for Punjab Kings in recent years – was the chief destroyer as he hammered 133 not out from 43 balls.
Raza walked to the crease during the seventh over and proceeded to clear the fence an astonishing 15 times while also hitting seven fours on his way to bringing up his century from only 33 deliveries.
He matched Namibia’s Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton for the second-fastest in T20I cricket – six balls behind the record set by Sahil Chauhan of Estonia.

Raza’s teammates hit a further 12 sixes to set the record for the most sixes in a T20I innings as well.
Zimbabwe brought up their 50 in just 3.2 overs with Tadiwanashe Marumani bringing up his half century in an astonishing 13 balls.
The hundred mark was passed before the six-over powerplay was complete, and from then the records continued to tumble.
Four Zimbabweans raised the bat for half-centuries – a record – as they smashed 57 boundaries in total for the innings – another record.

Unfortunately for Gambian pace bowler Musa Jorbateh he collected an unwanted record as he conceded 93 runs from his four overs to go for the most runs of any bowler in a T20.
Jorbateh was one of five Gambian bowlers to be hit for 50 or more runs.
Zimbabwe have now won four games out of four in the sub-regional qualifiers, while Gambia gave walkovers to opponents Rwanda and the Seychelles in their first two matches.
