Zoho CEO Sridhar Vembu discussed the 70-hour work week debate started by Infosys founder Narayana Murthy. Vembu posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, about the need to balance economic growth with sustainable demographics and work-life balance. He recognized East Asian economic progress but also highlighted the impact of intense work cultures. “If you look at East Asia – Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China have all developed through extreme hard work, often imposing punitive levels of work on their own people” he noted. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is raising awareness about fake calls and fraudulent communications, advising citizens on how to report scams. They suggest filing police complaints, calling 1930, and reporting incidents on the Sanchar Saathi portal. Telecom operators have been instructed to play cybercrime awareness messages 8-10 times daily for three months to educate the public on common scams.
