Want the inside scoop on Tri-Valley League boys basketball? We went to the source, and asked the league’s coaches to tell us about the best players and teams. Currently eight of 12 TVL teams are on track to qualify for the postseason.
We asked coaches seven questions. Nine of the 12 responded to the survey. Here are their answers:
Rowan Tracey, Medfield: The 5-11 senior guard led the Warriors to the Elite 8 last season.
Robert Liriano, Westwood: He’s a junior point guard that excels in transition.
Jack Carter, Millis: “Extremely talented player that can score in a variety of ways. Can take over games.”
Julian Allison-Cardoso, Dedham: “A long, athletic forward who can guard multiple positions. He’s quick enough to stay with guards and long enough to stay with forwards. He rebounds the ball really well.”
Logan Kearney, Medway: “Great on ball defender that gets a lot of steals and deflections. Makes the guards work for 94 feet and dictates tempo of the game.”
Thomas Behrmann, Medfield: “I think everyone knows he’s a good player, but he is what makes Medfield go.”
Matt Parlon, Medway: “I feel like he is the engine to his team. His game is not flashy but he’s one of those players that just does everything right. … He uses his high basketball IQ to separate himself.”

Norwood and Medfield: “Norwood can hurt you down low with Alex and then have good shooters from perimeter. Their defense is great and they change up what defense they play. Medfield can just score in so many different ways with great shooters across the board. They can win games in the 50s and 70s.
“I’m not sure if there is one. Division 2 is a tough draw for any of our teams.”
“Not sure anyone has a legitimate shot. Medfield”
Millis: “They have a lot of good pieces and can hurt you in a variety of ways. Jack is a great scorer, Franco does a good job of running their offense and scoring himself, and Sean Ryan has been shooting the ball extremely well this year. I think they can make some noise in Division 4.”
