College Football Playoff second-round picks | Before The Snap
Before The Snap takes a close look at the four second-round CFP games and makes straight-up picks.
With the NFL regular season so close to finishing, most fanbases are already looking ahead to next season, but before we can reach next season, we’ll have to get through the draft.
While quarterbacks are dominating the top of most draft boards, as usual, with stars like Colorado‘s Shedeur Sanders, Miami‘s Cam Ward, and Oregon‘s Dillon Gabriel being projected to go early in the first round, the first overall pick may end up being a different position entirely. As it stands, the New England Patriots hold the first overall pick, and their rookie quarterback Drake Maye has looked pretty good.
If they hold that pick, they likely won’t select a quarterback, meaning we could see them go linemen in order to protect Maye or go with a receiver like Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter or Arizona‘s Tetairoa McMillan go No. 1 overall, which would mark the first time a receiver went first overall since Keyshawn Johnson in 1996.
Here are the odds for each of college football’s top prospects to hear their name called first.
