This remarkable deal followed closely behind Shreyas Iyer, the title-winning captain of Kolkata Knight Riders, who was secured by the Punjab Kings for Rs 26.75 crore.

Meanwhile, the Kolkata Knight Riders made a significant investment to keep allrounder Venkatesh Iyer, re-signing him for Rs 23.75 crore to retain their core players.

Trent Boult, Josh Hazlewood, and Jofra Archer each went for Rs 12.50 crore — Boult to Mumbai Indians, Hazlewood to Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Archer to Rajasthan Royals — enhancing their respective bowling attacks significantly.
