Who Are PFF’s Big-Name Free Agents?
The 2025 free agency class has the potential to be headlined by some talented names.
If we look at the Top 10 list curated by both PFF and Bowen, eight players landed in both rankings.
But the top two players on each list were the same in wide receiver Tee Higgins and guard Trey Smith sit at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
Both lists also included Mack, wide receiver Chris Godwin, cornerback D.J. Reed, tackle Ronnie Stanley, quarterback Sam Darnold and edge rusher Josh Sweat.
Mack and Sweat are interchanged between both lists at the top, but they lead an edge rusher group that is slated to have some depth this March.
Which Position Groups Are Deepest In Free Agency?
The edge rusher group has 15 players on PFF’s list, the most of any position by a decent margin. Whether it’s near the top or further down the list, it’s a position that will have a number of notable players available.
It’s followed by a tie in the secondary between cornerbacks and safeties, with each group have 11 players in the rankings.
PFF’s highest-ranked cornerback is Reed at No. 6, while the top-ranked safety is Jevon Holland at No. 3 overall. The two positions combined have 10 players within the first 35 spots on PFF’s list.
There are also 11 guards listed in PFF’s Top 100 list, the most of any group on the offensive side of the ball.
The aforementioned Smith leads all players at his position but is followed by a group that is ranked close together in Will Fries (No. 24), Teven Jenkins (No. 25), Kevin Zeitler (No. 27) and James Daniels (No. 28).
Other notable positions to reach the double-digit mark in PFF’s top 100 rankings were wide receiver, interior defensive line and linebacker.
