Alabama basketball picked up a résumé-building win at Texas A&M over the weekend, so what did that mean for the Crimson Tide in the rankings?
In the Coaches Poll, taking two SEC road games evidently meant nothing as Alabama (14-2) remained at No. 5 on Monday.
Meanwhile, rival Auburn took the No. 1 spot from Tennessee after the now-sixth-ranked Volunteers received a 30-point slashing from Florida last week. With the victory, Todd Golden’s Gators moved up four spots, jumping Nate Oats and company to stand at No. 4 in the country.
Alabama gets two more chances to move back the No. 2 spot it held in the preseason — or better — this week with games against No. 21 Ole Miss and No. 9 Kentucky.
