Global Travel in West Kirby has picked up a prize at the inaugural Expedition Cruise Network Awards.
The awards recognise the best cruise lines and expedition cruise sellers in the industry, and co-founder Sarah Meadowcroft has scooped the Best Newcomer gong for her work on polar travel.
In March 2026, Sarah will be leading an Ultimate Norway Arctic Expedition under the Northern Lights.
Sarah, who created Global Travel with her mum Isobel in 2002, said: “After joining the Expedition Cruise Network earlier this year, it is an honour to receive this incredible award.
“I have been fascinated by polar travel since I attended the Latin Routes training academy in Peru, where I joined other travel agents in gaining first-hand knowledge of Latin America, but also learning about the emerging polar industry.
“My client base enjoy touring, safari, and adventure, so I thought a polar adventure would be perfect for them.”
The branch is now part of Hays Travel Independence Group, and Harriet Thompson from the firm said: “It is fantastic to see Global Travel grow from strength to strength, and it is impressive to see how dedicated Sarah is to providing unique experiences for customers.
“Congratulations to Global Travel on winning this award, and I wish Sarah the best of luck on her upcoming tour.”
