Welcome to Week 11 of the NFL season. The fantasy football playoffs are just around the corner, but let’s take a quick look back at how the remaining wide receivers did in Week 10. Let’s just see here . . . Ja’Marr Chase caught 11 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns! That’s not too bad, not too bad at all. Let’s see who gets the Ravens this week? George Pickens you say? That could be fun!
But how about the rest of the non-Chase receivers in the Top 10? Marquez Valdes-Scantling? Tylan Wallace? John Metchie III? Alec Pierce? Those are some names! It was a weird week, that’s for sure.
On the season, Chase has taken a commanding lead, as he’s averaging 22.5 PPR fantasy points per game, while second-place Justin Jefferson has averaged 18.6. Both Nico Collins and Chris Godwin are between the two, with Collins as the only other receiver averaging over 20. The hope is that Collins returns this week. C.J. Stroud could really use him!
Marvin Harrison, Xavier Legette, Jalen Coker, Malik Nabers, Wan’Dale Robinson, Mike Evans, Jalen McMillan
Hill played through his wrist injury on Monday night, but there is no doubt he has a true injury. Hill has been dealing with a torn ligament in his wrist all season, per Lisa Salters. He managed a touchdown on Monday night, but only had four targets and 16 total yards. As long as he plays, Hill needs to be downgraded in rankings until he shows his old form.
Collins returned to practice late last week and was listed as questionable before not playing. This week he should return and would automatically become a must start.
Coleman continues to deal with a wrist injury that kept him from playing the last two weeks. His status for this week remains up in the air.
Cooper is also dealing with a wrist injury, but there appears to be more hope for him returning this week. The Bills do have a bye week in Week 12, which could push them to hold out Coleman and Cooper again, but they also play the top AFC team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Higgins is considered day-to-day this week, so he has a chance to play after missing two games with a quad injury. That doesn’t mean he will of course.
Pittman missed Week 10 with lingering back problems and an injured finger. It seems like he has a chance to play this week, but that’s just speculation at this point. We’ll need to keep an eye on the injury report.
The Falcons have been an easy mark for wide receivers this season, ranking 26th in fantasy points allowed to the position. Just last week the Falcons gave up a huge Two-touchdown game to Marquez Valdes-Scantling after he was cast aside by the wide receiver needy Bills. Sutton has been great of late, but this matchup at home looks especially strong.
The Chargers are slight favorites at home, but the Bengals have shown that when Joe Burrow is on, they can move the ball quickly. The hope this week is that the Bengals will push the Chargers to throw the ball to keep up. And with the Bengals weak pass defense, it would probably behoove them to do so.
Johnston has stepped up well this season despite missing time to an injury. He has a touchdown in each of his last two games despite not seeing a big target load. If this game can become more pass oriented, I expect he’ll again be able to put up usable fantasy numbers, as his usage should go up.
